Lock up your children and hide your wife, Whiskey Dick is bringing their brand of acoustic-metalhead-country to a town near you. Saturday night, Bronco's hosted a benefit put together by the Pull Getter's Association to help raise money for Whiskey Dick's April-May trek across the U.S.
The guys took the stage before a completely packed house, full of the WD faithful, and several well known local musicians scattered through out the crowd. And they didn't disappoint as they ripped through a two hour set, that included quite a bit from their latest release Drunk As Hell. Shortly after their set, an auction was held that included an acoustic Dean guitar autographed by Whiskey Dick, several autographed pictures of Dimebag Darrell, an autographed bottle of Merkin Vinyards Chupacabra Wine by Maynard James Keenan, and the old "retired" Whiskey Dick banner that has seen more crazy drunken debauchery then a west Texas whorehouse in the 1800's.
In all, I'd call it a highly successful night that will get Whiskey Dick on the road to preach their gospel of rebel flags and whiskey.

Shooting Challenges: The stage at Bronco's is spattered with overhead red light, and the bar has a constant thick haze of cigarette smoke. Shooting without a flash creates a grainy, grimy look to the photos, which is cool when used as an effect. Using a flash is like having a strobe light in the fog, the light disperses unevenly everywhere. Good times.
Tomorrow's Post: Part two of this evening at Bronco's; The premiere of Double Barrel Bastards.
