Monica & Wil....I don't know where to begin. I guess I'll start out by saying THANK YOU for not only letting Eric and I shoot your wedding, but THANK YOU for an amazing night that I will always remember. I've shot a lot of weddings over the last few years, but I can't remember ever having this much fun! It's always enjoyable shooting for a client that is laid back and spends more time focusing on having a good time then worrying about the little annoying nuances that may arise during your big wedding day. I know for a fact that Eric, Lindsay, and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and not once did we ever feel like we were there "to do a job". So once again THANK YOU!
For those that might have missed their engagement post, I stated that Wil is a truly unique character that marches to the beat of his own drum. What I'm starting to realize though is that Monica has her own set of drums, and together these guys make up a pretty rocking rhythm section. As you will see below, these two are absolutely amazing together.
The ceremony was held at the Wildwood Inn, a European style boutique hotel in Denton Texas. The feeling was intimate, but the focus was on fun. From the pergola, to the swimming pool (more on that a little later), to the ballroom, there was electricity in the air as Monica & Wil made April Fools Day their own!
Wil kept the band a secret from Monica, and a little further below you will see the pay off!
Classic!
When it was time to exchange rings, Wil's secret band was finally revealed and the result was priceless.
I normally don't like putting family formals in the blog, but this one was too epic to pass up. Wil's mom "metaling it up" with the boys.
Yes, his speech was written on a Whataburger bag.
.
About halfway through the reception all activity was halted because it was time for everyone to do the The Time Warp.
And Wil busted out a little "wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle".
Up until now, everything was going the way a wedding and reception normally go. But every since Monica and Wil booked the Wildwood Inn, Wil had an overwhelming desire to throw Monica into the swimming pool at the end of the evening. After several rounds of negotiations and a few adult beverages, a pact was made, and the result was something I've never experienced at a wedding before. Not everyone is open to crazy and creative ideas like this, but the rhythm section I referred to earlier was blasting away at 280bpm, and the outcome was COMPLETELY EPIC.
Pure greatness! Thank you guys again for a wonderful night, and I wish you both nothing but the best in your future together!
Oh and Wil, thanks for the bottles of Red & White, I will enjoy those to the very last drop!
As always big thanks to my partner in crime, Eric Garcia, and a special thank you to Lindsay Garrett of My Little Umbrella Photography for tagging along and assisting us through out the evening.
