Dallas had it's wettest May ever. The previous rainfall record was set in 1982 with 13.66 inches, but that record was shattered by 16.07 inches which sent the Trinity River deep into flood stage. 35 trillion gallons of rain fell across the state of Texas during the month of May so far, that's enough water to cover the entire state in 8 inches of water. The Trinity River in downtown Dallas is normally 30 feet across and jut a couple of feet deep, this week it grew to almost 2000 feet across and over 35feet deep.
