So North Texas has a new rock band that is pretty much just that, a pure rock band, and their name is the Confounded.
Comprised of four members, they are led by Joshua Reed on Vocals and Guitar, John Deleon on lead guitar, Matt Thomas on bass, and Stephen O'Sicky in the back on drums. I could go on and on about how refreshing it is to see a local band that makes music without all the flamboyance or trickery that other bands from the area do, but it's really something you should experience live.
To quote their Facebook page, The Confounded is "Four guys who wanted to start a band, succeeded, and now play in a band. Rock bands are a dime a dozen, and while the genre itself seems to be laid to the side of the road, there are four musicians who do not have a problem carrying rock’s flag. They are The Confounded. Born out of Fort Worth, Texas, The Confounded create passionate, pulsating, head quaking, body shaking, foot stomping, fist pumping ROCK N’ ROLL! With the release of their self-titled EP, the band has put their best foot forward in effort to kick down the door of the music scene. The Confounded are not here to reinvent the wheel, but they are here to remind everyone what rock is, was, and what it could be…"
If your tired of the generic garage metal bands that seem to be popping up all over North Texas, then try and catch these guys at a show. You won't be disappointed.
