I met Brittany last year while shooting her cousin's wedding and was instantly amused by her relaxed demure and anything goes attitude. So when she approached me to do her senior photos I really didn't know what was in store. I never imaged that we would be stomping through a forest, hanging off a bridge, herding cattle, and wrestling mesquite trees. After her sessions, I seriously thought about adding a safety clause to my releases.
Read MoreA few months ago my buddy Lindsay Garrett and I were walking through the streets of Roanoke on a senior session when I popped off and said that I wanted to do some sort of shoot in a laundromat somewhere. To my surprise, she was on the same page, so plans were set in motion to set something up. Lindsay said she knew the perfect girl for the shoot, and she couldn't have been more right. Taylor was amazing to work with; laid back and easy going, she was an absolute joy to work with.

Oh it's summer time. The air is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and bikini contests are popping up everywhere. But none of these contest can hold a candle to the annual Twin Peaks Bikini Contest. Each location across the country holds a contest in their restaurant to award one lucky girl a cash prize and a chance to compete in the finals held May 30th in Dallas, Texas. Eric and I traveled down to the Round Rock location last week to, thanks to the greatness of Jeremie Perez, help judge their semi-finals.

You could probably careless about this being the first round of auditions, with 2 more still to go. I guess I'll start out by saying THANK YOU for not only letting Eric and I shoot your wedding, but THANK YOU for an amazing night that I will always remember. I've shot a lot of weddings over the last few years, but I can't remember ever having this much fun! It's always enjoyable shooting for a client that is laid back and spends more time focusing on having a good time then worrying about the little annoying nuances that may arise during your big wedding day. I know for a fact that Eric, Lindsay, and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and not once did we ever feel like we were there "to do a job". So once again THANK YOU!

Read MoreMy preferred working time is anywhere from about 2 hours before the sunsets till about 3-4 am. Most photographers fear working at night, but I openly invite it. My somewhat logical thinking is that controlling light is a lot easier in the dark then when a giant orb of orange and yellow is hanging in the sky. It always helps to have a full arsenal of speed lights and remotes at your disposal, as well as nice warm ambient surroundings. So when Lisa called me up and said she had an amazing couple that wanted to go out on the town for the night, I instantly got all tingly inside.

About couple of months ago Lisa gave me a call and told me to take the day off and come shoot some bridals with her. I agreed, but was a little confused on what the big deal was. Had I known that, a) we were going to be shooting the extremely elegant Erin, and b) we were going to take over Bailey's Prime Plus for a couple of hours, well there never would have been any confusion to begin with. Erin is a true beauty, that one minute can embellish the essence of classic vogue, and the next minute be frolicking in contemporary chic.
The saying goes - "Good things come to those who wait."
Well I have a confession: I've been meaning to post this set of pics for a few months now. But I do have my reasons. For one, I've been wrapped up in Summer weddings, and two, I really couldn't narrow down my favorite pics. One of the down falls of shooting in new locations and with a stunning subject is that you become attached to the shots. This shoot generated over 1500 pics and sorting through them became a nightmare.
Meet Stefani, one of Lisa's brides, that I had the wonderful opportunity to join on her bridal session. It's not every day that you run across a bride that wants to break away from the traditional floral and garden shots that normally go with bridal shoots. Stefani wanted something different and unique, and Lisa threw out the suggestion of the McKinney Cotton Mill. I don't think there could have been a better place for her.
