I really don't know where to begin with Gaby, she's absolutely incredible. Not only is she completely stunning, but she's also one of the nicest and sweetest girls in the world. I've had the pleasure of doing a handful of shoots with her now, and I've had an amazing time on everyone of them. She's the perfect example of what every photographer dreams of working with. Thank you Gaby for being totally awesome, and I can't wait to do more work with you!

Earlier this year I headed down south with my fantastic hair and makeup artist Christina to set up camp and have a little fun around a new area around Austin called the Domain. The idea was to do a little experimenting while doing some punk rock glamour style shoots. Courtney was the first of four on our long day of shooting and she was absolutely awesome. Wouldn't you agree that she crushed it?

The Big Texas Beer Fest is a festival that is all about unicorns, elephants and cross stitching. Not really, it's an all day celebration of craft beer from all over the world and is quickly becoming the best beer festival in North Texas. Brittnie, Matt, Wil and I headed out there to take part in the festivities at hand and to get our hands on some of the sweetest nectar from the gods. I can proudly say that our mission was accomplished.

993.... I was a young angst fueled teenager that was obsessed with fast and noisy punk rock music . The louder and faster, the better, but I was also becoming more and more interested in the North Texas music scene. Local radio station, KDGE The Edge would occasionally release a CD entitled Tales From The Edge that would in the end, consist of 11 volumes that were curated by DJ/Music Director George Gimarc. Each volume focused on music and bands from North Texas with a slight dabbling into the Austin music scene.

or the last couple of years we've been meeting up with the girls competing in the Twin Peaks Round Rock Bikini Contest at the hotel where they get dolled up and ready to compete. We all hang out, have some fun, and take a few promo shots of the girls. It seems to help them relax a little and get comfortable before the competition, and they also get some bad ass photos!

It was that time of year where the beautiful girls of Twin Peaks Round Rock fight to the death in a no holds barred bikini contest. Okay so there was no fighting to the death, but there was a bikini contest to determine who would go to the 2014 Twin Peaks Bikini Finals in Dallas. Like always, it was a great evening full of fun and ridiculousness!
Special thanks to Jeremie Perez and the rest of the Twin Peaks Round Rock staff.
And congratulations to Tasha for being crowned Miss Twin Peaks Round Rock 2014!

About 3 years ago after an Eye Was Once Eaten practice, Matt Stubbs threw out the idea of starting a podcast. Now there are a lot of ideas (some of them rather insane) thrown around during a band practice, but this one actually stuck with me. I have been an avid listener to podcasts for several years now, mostly tech and political conspiracy style shows, but doing one our self seemed like a fun idea. Unfortunately between my family, photography, and being in a band there wasn't much time to try and fit a podcast in.

On the west side of downtown Austin, nestled in the Castle Hill neighborhood lies an abandoned lot that I never knew existed until our trip down for SXSW this year. Locals have called it the Castle Hill Graffiti Park, or the Austin Graffiti Park, but it's official name is the The Hope Outdoor Gallery Project. And unlike your typical city park, it's a rough and hectic series of abandoned walls that serve as a 3 story canvas and playground for graf-artists from all over the world.

It was a cool Friday night and The Confounded decided to plant their flag in Denton. The result was an evening of greatness as the band laid waste to the stage at Andy's on the square. Once again proving why The Confounded is one of my favorite North Texas bands!

The problem with doing commercial shoots is that sometimes you have to wait a really long time to post any of the photos. Like in the case of this shoot with Emerson Windy that we did in April of 2013. But it's completely understandable when your dealing with an artist that is building out their promotional material for future campaigns. In fact I just wrapped up a badass shoot with Emerson a couple of weeks ago that will be used over the next few months for a marketing and album campaign that I'm dieing to show everyone. Seriously rad!

When I was in high school spending my weekends discovering and following local bands, there was a band that I encountered one weekend that blew my mind. That band was Brutal Juice. Their music was an angst filled teenagers wet dream and they are now considered a legendary, integral part of the Denton and D/FW music scene in the 90's. Lead singer Craig Welch's on stage antics were the definition of insanity; smashing bottles and snuffing out cigarettes on his head, dancing around like a mad man on LSD, and gazing into the eyes of audience members with an intensity that would burn through them. All of this going on while a pummeling force of music was pulsating and churning behind him, Brutal Juice was acid punk fueled by rage, narcotics, and hysteria.

So when you have two good friends that are expecting a baby you automatically get a free pass to use and abuse them how you see fit, right? It also helps if they are almost as crazy or deranged as you.

So two of my good friends decided to see if they could do their part in populating the planet and extending the future of the human race. And to all of our amazement they succeeded! Yay! And what do you do when one of your good friends suddenly has a humanoid expanding her waist line? You photograph her, and then come up with crazy uncomfortable photoshoot ideas that most normal people would find bizarre and fill your email box up with borderline angry comments. But for right now, let's stick with the normal photos.

Confession; One of my favorite shoots to do is Bridals. And what puts these shoots over the top is when you have an awesome bride that introduces you to a place you've never been to, much less knew existed. When Nikki and I met, she told me that she wanted to shoot her bridals at the same location her reception was going to be, The Dallas Heritage Village. I've worked, shot, all around Dallas for years, and I never knew this place existed.....a stones throw from downtown in one direction and the Cedar's in the other. The village is a photography playground, with so much to shoot around that we could have shot there for a couple of days.

Our final morning in the Mara, our final morning in Kenya, and what would be the longest travel day(s) of my life.
The morning began with the tent zipper being opened by our butler bringing us tea and biscuits for our morning wake up call, this had become a ritual for us. But this was our last day, and I didn't want to get out of bed. I didn't want to leave the Mara and I knew that once I was up and going the day would be a whirlwind, and it would be 40+ hours before I'd get decent sleep again.

I've fallen behind with my posts on this trip, I was hoping my schedule wouldn't be this crazy when I returned from Africa. But you know what they say about idle minds.....
Our day began just before sunrise as we all met up at "the meeting" spot before loading into our Land Rovers. It was a crisp cool morning and todays hunt was for the elusive leopard and a big male lion. As exited out of the back gate of camp we didn't have to go further then a couple of hundred yards to see our favorite pride of cats.

My morning began at 5:30am in a tent, in the Masai Mara, in Africa. I laid there in bed for a few minutes soaking in my surroundings and listening to the pre-dawn ambience of insects and animals that make up this part of the world. Those few minutes might have been some of the most tranquil minutes of my life.
Africa or Bust 2013 - Part 5: We Arrive At The Mara
Our morning began before sun up, and this was going to be the trend for the rest of our visit to Kenya. But this morning I was wide awake and ready to roll because in a few short hours we were going to be in the Masai Mara, the mouth of the Serengeti, what many say is the number one national park in all of Africa. To say I was excited was an understatement!
